Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop

David Howell will give a Pruning workshop at Russborough on 24th March (10am-12-30) on the pruning of top fruit.

This will be a practical course looking at:-
Pruning tools.
Cleaning and sharpening tools.
Going around the walled garden demonstrating

  • winter pruning
  • formal early pruning of young trees
  • restorative pruning of old trees
  • winter pruning of espalier trees
  • other techniques used in orchards like notching.

Question and answer session.

David has been working for several years on the fruit trees at Russborough where he has grafted apples and set up espaliers.
