Garden Show

The Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland (RHSI), The Alfred Beit Foundation and Quinns of Baltinglass teamed up to host a Garden Show on Saturday, 29th July 2017 in the historic parkland setting of Russborough, in the heart of beautiful West Wicklow.  

 

The highlights included:

 

  • The Marketplace with an extensive range of stalls with specialist plants, flowers, tools, books and other essentials for gardening.
  • A hand picked group of suppliers and experts joined Quinns in the Retail Courtyard with garden furniture, barbecues, tools, clothing and accessories along with demos, spot prizes and gardening advice. The 2017 range of Husqvarna products were on display.
  • Visitors enjoyed talks from a knowledgeable and entertaining line-up of speakers:

Paul Martin, Gold Medal Winner at Chelsea 2016 – ‘Creating Beautiful Gardens’

  • Flower arranging demonstrations used flowers from the borders in the Walled Garden:

  • Family activities for budding gardeners were a popular feature in the walled garden.

Upcoming Events

We organise garden visits and garden-orientated tours in Ireland and overseas. We have a winter lecture programme, practical gardening workshops in Spring and Summer, a list of Partner Gardens, the RHSI Journal published three times a year, the RHSI  restoration of the walled garden at Russborough as our charity focus and an exciting Bicentenary Seminar planned for the RDS in September 2016. RHSI members have priority booking privileges but many events are also open to other interested gardeners.
