June Blake’s contemporary country garden in Tinode, west Wicklow is spread over three acres. It includes swathes of naturalistic, prairie-style planting, sculptural landforms, a flower meadow that comes to life in spring with sprinkles of crimson red Tulip ‘Red Shine’, generous stretches of woodland intersected by curving cobble paths and a formal, rectangular pool whose silver sliver of water is a mirror to the cloud-streaked Wicklow sky.
Each element of the garden is thoughtfully, imaginatively and expertly executed.
Open Wed – Sunday April – September 11.00am – 5.30pm

We organise garden visits and garden-orientated tours in Ireland and overseas. We have a winter lecture programme, practical gardening workshops in Spring and Summer, a list of Partner Gardens, the RHSI Journal published three times a year, the RHSI restoration of the walled garden at Russborough as our charity focus and an exciting Bicentenary Seminar planned for the RDS in September 2016. RHSI members have priority booking privileges but many events are also open to other interested gardeners.
